An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Insurance section of the Hertfordshire Legal Services Dept. The position is for a job share posting for one portion of the A5 Insurance Officer role.
The Legal Services Department represent Chief Constable of Hertfordshire, his officers and staff in Civil Claims brought against the Constabulary, as well as providing a comprehensive legal advisory service to senior Constabulary members.
The Insurance section provides advice on all aspects of the Constabulary’s Insurance Portfolio, manages related tenders and renewal processes, making recommendations to Chief Officers to ensure that any statutory and regulatory obligations are met. Liaising regularly with both internal and external customers.
An ideal candidate will have strong organisational and communication skills and be able to communicate effectively in both verbally and written form. Sound IT and Microsoft Office skills as well as the ability to work under their own initiative with a high degree of self-discipline and integrity is a must.
The applicant will be expected to liaise with internal and external members on a regular basis and assist in preparing documents and reports that will be presented to both Chief Officers and external partners.
An understanding of Insurance and Claims Management processes would be desirable. Working towards an Insurance/Legal qualification such as CII /CILex preferred.
The role is primarily based at Hertfordshire police headquarters, Welwyn Garden City.There may also be a requirement to represent the Force at regional insurance group meetings.
